Can I Undervalue My Items? Can I Mark Them as a Gift?
Can I Undervalue My Items?
Blackship allows you to enter and manage your own customs declaration information, including the declared value of your items.
However, you are fully responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information you provide.
If you choose to undervalue your items, please understand the risks:
Customs authorities may reject your declared value and assign their own assessed commercial value.
Customs authorities may impose fines or penalties if items are declared at an incorrect value, quantity, or description.
If your package is lost or damaged, insurance claims are limited to the declared value.
If you undervalue your items, any claim payout will be limited to that lower declared amount.
Incorrect declarations may result in delays, seizures, or additional inspections.
It is your responsibility to ensure your customs declaration complies with the laws and regulations of your destination country.
Blackship is not responsible for fines, penalties, denied claims, or customs actions resulting from inaccurate declarations.
Can I Mark My Package as a Gift?
Yes, you may select whether your package is declared as “Merchandise” or “Gift” during checkout.
However, please note:
Marking a package as “Gift” does not guarantee exemption from customs duties or taxes.
Customs authorities may still assess duties based on value and local regulations.
You must ensure the designation is accurate and lawful in your destination country.
You can manage these settings during the customs declaration step of checkout.
