Important carrier and destination restrictions
Due to recent updates to Japan Post terms, bottles over 24% alcohol must ship via DHL only.
We also cannot ship alcohol to countries where import is restricted, such as the USA and Canada, regardless of alcohol content or shipping method.
Customs responsibility
Blackship is able to ship alcohol out of Japan (except to the USA and Canada). However, due to restrictions that vary by country, we cannot be held responsible for alcohol shipments that are confiscated by customs or returned to us.
We recommend contacting your local customs authority in advance to confirm import rules for alcoholic beverages.
Recommended shipping methods
For bottles under 24%, we recommend shipping by EMS.
For bottles over 24%, DHL is the only available option.
Insurance note
Postal insurance does not cover breakage for alcoholic beverages.
