Ordering Food with Blackship
Shipping food is now more complicated and costly due to the pandemic. We recommend waiting until EMS is available for your country before ordering food or beverages
We are able to export food out of Japan as long as it does not fit into our prohibited items categories. To clarify some basic rules:
- No raw food such as fruit, vegetables or other highly perishable items
- FedEx cannot handle food
- No products containing meat can ship to the USA or Canada
- Alcoholic beverages are banned to the USA, Taiwan and Canada
- Alcoholic beverages above 24% must ship via DHL only
Shipping by Japan Post
Shipping with Japan Post could not be simpler, just choose the "Snack" or "Beverages" customs type when arranging your shipment and you can send products with Japan Post.
Drinks containing alcohol must be declared as "Alcoholic Drink". When you request to ship your item please also email us with the maker, alcoholic content, alcohol type, and alcohol percentage for your bottles.
Shipping by DHL
Shipping food via DHL cannot use the "Snack" or "Beverages" customs type. DHL requires us to be exceptionally specific with the item declaration. If you cannot find your food type in our current list, please contact us via email with details for your items so we can add it to our customs lists.
